Alphabet Soup (aka “The A to Z of Me”)

Guys, tomorrow is the start of summer!   I’m so ready for some warmer weather (without the freak storms and floodings, thank you!), so I’m focused on enjoying the next few months and hope to take some time off from work.

My friend Hope at Defining Hope tagged me in the “Alphabet Soup” meme that’s circulating while Elaine and Jennifer host “Old School Blogging” this month.  Old school, as in, before blogging blew up and became a business rather than a way to make new friends and share information.   😉

So, I figured:  Why not take a break from the heavier blog posts and join in the frothy fun of this “getting-to-know-me” post?  I’ve shared bits and pieces about me in other blog posts over the last two years (see here and here), but this meme shoots from a slightly different angle.

Well, grab a spoon and enjoy the soup while it’s hot!

A. Attached or Single?   Single!

B. Best Friend?  Can’t tell you.  Then all my other best friends will be jealous!  😆

C. Cake or pie? Cake.  Really not a huge pie lover at all.

D. Day of choice?  Sunday.  I’m much more relaxed and at peace.

E. Essential item? Lip balm and mini hand lotion.  Can’t be walking around feeling dried out!

F. Favorite color? Purple, purple, and then some more purple.

G. Gummy bears or worms? Um, neither. Taste … weird.

H. Hometown? Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies.

I. Favorite Indulgence? A long, restful sleep. As in 9-11 hours straight.  Bliss!

J. January or July?  July.   Can do without the cold and the coats in January.  Unless I’m back home in St. Kitts, of course.

K. Kids? No, unless my Abyssinian fur-baby Ms. Cassie counts.

L. Life isn’t complete without?  God, and a vocation and cause that fuel your passion, gifts, and calling.

M. Marriage date? Huh?

N. Number of brothers/sisters?  One baby brother.  Hi Groovy Guy!

O. Oranges or Apples.   A toss-up.  Right now I’ll err on the side of oranges.  This time next week I’m probably gonna be Team Apple.  I’m weird like that.

P. Phobias? Heights.

Q. Quotes?  Right now my fave is “Old age ain’t for sissies,”  attributed to Bette Davis.  I’m feeling that one right now.

R. Reasons to smile? Good health, strength, friends, and family.  Being alive!

S. Season of choice? Spring.  I’ll miss you, Spring of 2013!

T. Tag 5 People.  Hope. Arlett. Michell.  MichelleLakesha.

U. Unknown fact about me?  I cry out in 3D movies if the action feels  like it’s too close to me.

V. Vegetable? Broccoli.

W. Worst habit?  Forcing to stay awake in order to read.  Not wise.  Morning comes way too quickly!

X. Xray or Ultrasound? Ultrasound.  Really dislike X-rays.  Not convinced they’re good for my body.

Y. Your favorite food? Bread. I think I’m addicted!

Z. Zodiac sign? Capricorn.

Okay guys, dip in and share your thoughts on anything in this alphabet soup!

  3. Hi Alison! Your letter B is exactly why I posted my Mother and little sister as my BFFs! Friends truly can be amazingly jealous. I think it’s kinda cute sometimes though, lol. Purple is like my 2nd favorite, it! I love OSB, good getting to find out little particulars about people. I’m about to connect socially so we can stay in touch!

The West Indies…ahhhh, how nice! Thanks for allowing us to get to know you a little more…have a wonderful week!! 🙂

  6. You have a great one too, Michell!

  7. I had to laugh at the 3D one. My son and I had to leave the theater on Happy Feet 2. That was the last 3D movie I wasted money on. It was animated but a shark and a swarm of Krill brought him to tears. At first he said, ” I don’t think I can like this mom.” Next thing I know, “Mom I’m ready to go now.” He was a big boy too – like six I think. But I complied because I know how he is. 😉
