The lifter of my head

lifter of my head

In those seasons (which we all experience at some time or another) when you don’t feel able to lift a finger, much more put one foot in front of the other, it’s good to remember that Jesus is the lifter of your head. He carries us along when we have no strength left.  Hallelujah!

Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. This is so true! God is there in every season. He is absolutely amazing! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

  2. Dear Allison
Is was thinking this week about how our Pappa gives grace to the humble, but resist the proud and I thought to myself that there is not even a way that I can rid myself of my sin; only Jesus can and does when we get to that place where we admit that we need God’s mercy and forgiveness. Then, my friend, He lifts up our heads and wipes away the tears!
    Blessings XX

  3. For the first time in years, I felt I could not lift my head. The foreboding filling hit me as soon as I woke up on Friday. Cutting a long story short, I had an assessment to do for which I was not prepared, I did not do well however, God stepped in and the whole story changed. At the end of it all, even thought I failed the test, there was much gain in speaking with the recruiter. Great is his faithfulness. I FAINT NOT!!!!

  4. Beautiful verse to remember on hard days. He is our glory & the lifter of our head. When I cannot lift my own head, He gently does it for me. Visiting from Sunday Stillness this morning.
    Have a blessed Sunday!

  10. YES. Amen to this…. soo many times. Countless. I believe he carries us at times, holds us, weeps for us and folds His Loving Arms around our hearts during un-bearable times. If we let Him…

    Beautifully encouraging, Alison. LOVE. 🙂

  17. I needed that! I’ve been feeling “some kind of way” lately and cannot pinpoint what it is. My energy is low and my strength seems so out of reach. You came through with this affirmation!

    • The “some kind of way” feeling is what prompted me to post this, Andrea. That’s where I was on Friday. I call it “Bleh-ville.” Just icky in the insides. Fortunately, this type of feeling passes and we look back on it, knowing that God really did lift our heads and hearts!

  19. Hi Alison! It is a good thing that we have a God who wants us to be lifted, isn’t it? Thanks be to him who wants us to look ahead and not down or behind.
There are so many times when I’m sad and tired, and I just don’t know how I’m going to feel better. And there he is with my energy and purpose. Yay!
Thank you for your recent visit, Alison 🙂

    • Always a delight to visit your blog, Ceil. Thanks for the description of a God who wants us to look ahead, not down or behind! Reminds me of a post a few weeks ago in which I uploaded a photo of some cross-stitch I did with the words: “Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, faith looks up.”

      Have a wonderful week, Ceil!
