“Autumn…the year’s last, loveliest smile.”  William Cullen Bryant

Although we know that the change in colors in autumn signal the death of the leaves as they make way for winter, fall goes out with a bang, a burst of brilliant hues that take our breath away… the loveliest smile!

Happy Sunday!

  1. One of the few things I miss about driving down 295 in the Fall, it was always breathtaking. I have not experienced that this Fall, guess I have stayed too close to the concrete jungle.

Beautiful. We don’t have our colors yet. I can’t wait. It truly is my favorite time of year.

  5. So true! We were just talking today about how very November-ish it is starting to look here. Dilute foliage after peak. Still beautiful.

    • We’ve been blessed with some awesome weather the last few days, Tamara. The leaves are gorgeous, and against the brilliant blue of the sky and the crisp air, it’s been such a delight.

Have a marvelous week, my dear.

  8. Beautiful picture. I don’t see sights like this much in L.A.

I remember growing up in the midwest and loving the changing of the leaves. Just gorgeous. Have a wonderful week.

  11. I do love the fall. I’m sad that almost all of our leaves have fallen – especially because that means I have to rake them up!

    • Yep, not looking forward to the raking. I try to wait until all the trees around me are just about bare. Sometimes it works, other times… not so much!

    • Lucky you! I’ll be taking two weeks off. By then I’ll be glad to get away, but I’m enjoying fall right now. I’m a summer girl too, but there’s a special beauty to fall that can’t be beat.

  14. It’s funny. I’ve never thought of the fact that the leaves are about to die. I just enjoy the beauty of them when they are changing. You are so right though! They do go out with a bang! 🙂

  16. I love the fall colors! We had a ton of wind over the last few days and most of the leaves are down now. I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to fall. 🙁 At least I took a few pics!

    • Good for you! Lots of leaves are down over here now too. Saturday was nice enough to walk outside, and I picked some leave that I wanted to used in a photo. Didn’t work out, but it is much cooler now, but very fall-y still. Winter’s around the corner, Michelle!

  17. It’s poignant isn’t it, that death brings out their true individuality, and difference and unique colours? It takes us too a while to discover who we really are, and why God put us on this earth!
