Hi everyone! Here’s hoping that you had an awesome weekend. Despite fighting the flu, I had a good one. Hung out with two of my BFFs and had a blast. Thankful for the gift of friendship!
On the turntable this Monday…
Why it made the cut: The man known as the “Architect of Urban Praise and Worship” never fails to bring me into the very presence of God with his lyrics and melodies. You can’t help but be carried into a different spiritual stratosphere with this song, which envelops the listener in the all-encompassing, omnipresent love of God.
The essence of praise is giving God the glory that He alone deserves. This song does just that by bringing to the fore the many aspects of life that make God the be-all and end-all of the believer’s world. He is, indeed, everything to me!
Artist: Modern-day psalmist Fred Hammond, known also as the Babyface of gospel music, has carved out for himself an honored position in urban adult contemporary Christian music. He is, bar none, my favorite Christian musician.
For more than 25 years, Fred’s enviable skills as a worship leader, vocalist, musician, and producer have birthed an often imitated but never fully duplicated blend of modern lyrics, danceable yet worshipful grooves, and heady beats that are always focused in one direction: God-ward.
When I felt lost and alone
You came and changed my story
On the pages of my life
You have revealed your glory
Lord You’re everything to me
